Seasons Food Wagon
On the corner of Epping Road and Industrial Drive, a fresh addition to Exeter’s food scene is drawing attention with its bold flavors, health-conscious menu options and an inviting outdoor setup. Seasons Food Wagon (103 Epping Road, Exeter, seasonsfoodwagon.com) is the latest venture from Tinios Pro Hospitality — the Seacoast restaurant group behind well-known spots like Popovers in Epping and Portsmouth, as well as the Galley Hatch and Tinos Kitchen + Bar in Hampton. The food trailer debuted earlier this year and has become a favorite among locals and visitors, with menu staples that include customizable bowls, wraps and hand-cut fries. Each item highlights fresh ingredients, from signature bowls and wraps to build-your-own options that allow you to mix and match your favorite grains, proteins and veggies. The hand-cut fries are a standout, triple-cooked for the perfect crispness and available in four unique flavors. Seasons Food Wagon is currently stationed at 103 Epping Road in Exeter Tuesday through Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with plans to participate in local events on the remaining days of the week. The Scene recently caught up with food trailer manager and Exeter native Lance Allison to get the scoop on what makes Seasons Food Wagon special and what you can expect when you stop by.
How long has Seasons Food Wagon been around?
The company I work for bought this food truck back in August [2024], and they approached me around December to come and open it. … I’ve worked through different places, but had been at Tinos Kitchen + Bar for over four years. … We officially opened on April 22.
What makes Seasons Food Wagon unique?
We offer completely customizable options, so you basically can choose your own adventure [with] our bowls and our wraps. … Beyond the food, I think what is also unique is how we’re trying to use the area that we’re located in. I have a canopy that I set up on really sunny days, and then we’ve also got picnic tables, chairs and lawn games as well. We’re trying to just make it a nice little space for everybody to come and hang out.
What is your favorite thing on your own menu?
I think my favorite is the build-your-own wrap. I like it because I can make something new and exciting every day, and it’s always fresh and different. … During the summer and on hot days, I like to throw some beets into my wrap, or maybe some arugula in there for a nice, summery vibe.
What is something that everyone should try?
I think it’s definitely the hand-cut fries. They are my own recipe — I spent about a month researching different recipes and landed on three-eighth-inch cut and triple-cooked. I think it gives it the perfect fry, [with] a crispy exterior and a nice, soft interior. I have four different flavors that I offer for that. There’s the Cajun, which we call the Camp fry, then I also have a Truffle fry, the Wicked fry, which is a lemon herb seasoning, and then a regular Plain Jane fry as well. … If anybody comes up to the trailer and is looking for just one thing to try, I’ll recommend the flavor that sounds best for you and go for it.
Name a celebrity you would like to see ordering from Seasons Food Wagon.
Personally, I would like to see Guy Fieri. … I grew up watching his stuff, and so I think it would be cool to have him come check out the food truck.
What’s one essential skill needed to successfully run a food truck or trailer?
You have to have passion. I’ve had a lot of people around me display a lot of passion and that has definitely made a difference.
What is your favorite thing about being on the Seacoast?
Our location. I love to hike and I love to fish, and my favorite thing is definitely just having access to it all — the ocean, the mountains and the city.
